Secara umum pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) mengkaji tentang materi apa yang akan diajarkan kepada siswa beserta rasionalnya, bagaimana siswa belajar matematika, bagaimana topik-topik matematika seharusnya diajarkan, serta bagaimana menilai kemajuan belajar siswa. Selanjutnya guru meminta siswa untuk membandingkan dan mendiskusikan jawaban yang telah dimilikinya dalam diskusi kelas, sedangkan karakteristik pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education yang muncul pada tahap ini adalah interaktif dan menggunakan kontribusi siswa.

Although the style through which this model contributes to the globalization phenomenon is evident, nonetheless we must contemplate the fact that the final purpose of education is not any other then confronting globalization’s effects and influences, in addition to the worldwide destructive impression upon setting and, finally, upon the way people reside all over the place.

The decline of direct parental involvement, poor college education faculty preparation for academics, misdirected and inconsistent standardized testing efforts, and the dearth of any teacher testing and annual monitoring of instructor progress have all contributed to the issues in public education, and alarming lack of results and preparation of our kids.
